European Trip with Mom 1989

Another "If it's Tuesday this must be Belgium" trip

Mom & I took a 10-day tour of the French Chateaux. The trip began in London and ended in Paris.

Arc de Triomphe, Paris, France

This is my favorite monument. I think this is so because I first saw it at night back in April of 1979 when I went with my French Class. It was all lit up and it was my first image that shook me to the realization as if saying...."HEY, DONNA, YOUR IN FRANCE!"

Chenonceaux in 1989 ( picture compliments of DottiM)

This is the most beautiful picture I've seen. This is my favorite Chateau. I believe my mother captured the essence of France and managed to take the exact picture used in postcards!! We had a wonderful time on our tour of the Chateaux of France back in 1989. Two crazy women loose in Europe. What a time we had. Mom....where's your passport? I'm ready to go back!!

Sacre Coeur Cathedral, Paris, France 1989

Guards at Buckingham Palace, London, England (Photo by Dotti M aka Mommy)

The guards at Buckingham Palace are camera shy. They don't like to show off their teeth.... Mom did a good job winning them over with her charm. They posed for this shot. We were only here for one day, and missed the changing of the guards ceremony...these two were all that were left. We got to see the Cathedral, but it wasn't a pretty site as they were doing restoration work on it. It was a rainy day and we had a distance to walk to the tube. We loved Harrods and had lunch across the street at a lovely and unpretentious restaurant named Zia Theresa. Great food. Highly recommend it. It's worth every pound!

WWII National Cemetary near the Normandy Beaches.

Mom looks on at the thousands of crosses for the brave soldiers who gave their lives on the Normandy Beaches during WWII. It's very hard not to get emotional when you see the rows upon rows which cover the grounds.
